Fourteen years ago, beginning right here at a DWD Intro to Agility class, Suzanne and her “All Canadian” dog Charlie Brown began their journey into the world of Competitive Dog Agility…they just didn’t know it yet. Although Suzanne joined the class “just for fun” she quickly became hooked on the sport and wanted more.
Suzanne and Charlie B competed regularly in Ontario and had much success racking up many Master’s Level Titles in Agility. For over 9 years they competed at the Local, Provincial and National levels. In 2019 they competed at Canadian National Dog Agility Championships where they reached the podium in 3 of the 6 National Events, achieving 2nd, 5th and 8th places. They also placed 3rd in the National Steeplechase Final. “There is no better feeling than stepping to the start line with your canine partner as a team with a dream”.
When competing or practicing, Suzanne believes that you must always stick to your criteria, connect with your dog and there is no holding back! Suzanne also has an extensive background in the sport of gymnastics, having coached children of all ages and abilities for more than 20 years. Suzanne uses this background when planning and instructing her agility classes, using stations and drills, keeping handlers and dogs busy all while having FUN!
