Lisa’s professional life with dogs began over 25 years ago when she apprenticed with Judy Emmert at Dealing with Dogs Ltd. Lisa took over the company in 2001 and ran a successful dog training school with 3 locations and 12 instructors.  She developed all the class content for multiple levels of pet dog classes.  She was the technical writer for a well-received dog training book: Teach Yourself Visually Dog Training.  In 2017, Lisa and her business partner Margie McConnell developed a web-based platform to assist puppy owners in keeping all the physical, developmental and training details about their puppy in one easy to access location.   Lisa continued her dog training career as the Puppy Program Supervisor at Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides for 3 years.  In that role, Lisa managed the care and development of over 250 foster puppies per year. Then a golden opportunity arose where Margie and Lisa could collaborate again as co-owners of Dealing With Dogs.  As a team, Margie and Lisa have a depth of knowledge about dogs and families that is unmatched.  They share a vision to help foster dog friendly training, committing to help people develop the best relationship with their canine pals.  Lisa’s 4 children are grown and gone leaving Lisa and her husband time to enjoy fun activities with their dogs, Fallyn and Pym.
