Scenting Clinic – One Day ONLY

Scent Detection, is one of the fastest growing dog sports in recent years. It is a fantastic way to bond with your dog, develop their confidence, and enrich their lives with something that comes naturally to them – sniffing! In this two-hour workshop, we will go over the basics of scent detection, how to teach it, and how to incorporate it into your everyday training. We will cover how to introduce a novel scent, how to train an alert, and how to build those skills with increasing difficulty. A fun way to work as a team with your dog and build your partnership!

About the Presenter:

Kate Schreiter has been working with dogs for over 10 years, gaining experience from boarding kennels, doggy daycares, being an adoption counsellor at the Oakville & Milton Humane Society, running her own dog walking and pet care business, working in the Puppy Program of Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, and finally as an instructor in their Seizure Response and Diabetes Alert Dog Guide programs. She has a passion for helping people and their dogs live more harmonious lives together by bridging the gap between what our dogs are trying to tell us and how we can best listen and understand them. She has two rescue dogs of her own, Rosie and Trudy, who have been her best teachers.
